Fee Structure
Howie Grant Writing & Consulting understands the unique financial needs of nonprofits, and this is why we are flexible with our billing arrangements. Depending upon your budget, we can offer you various options. If your finances are limited, we can bill you by the project, at an hourly rate. For those who prefer to have a consistent monthly accounting entry, we offer a monthly retainer for a specific amount with a guaranteed minimum number of hours per month. Typically, bills are sent out monthly on the last day of the month.
Upon request, we can provide you with a quote that includes various options/price points. Upon verbal agreement, we will issue a contract. However, there is no risk to you. After completion of all verbally contracted projects, you can cancel the contract at any time, by sending us a letter or email.
Sorry, we do not work on a contingent fee basis. Respected industry organizations such as the Grant Professionals Association frown upon the practice. Grant writing is considered a pre-award expense, and we believe that no one should personally benefit from the outcome. Many times, grant preparation costs are actually excluded by funders and government agencies. We charge a flat hourly rate or monthly retainer, regardless of the success of the grant application.
